Redding starts up 2017 in seventh

SR45, P7: “I’m really happy. I had a good race especially after the difficulties of the warm up. I got off a good start but I had to close the throttle due to Zarco’s dangerous move which cost me a lot. In the second part of the race I was lapping well even though I was not able to take the first Independent award. I would have been happy to make the Top 10 so this is a good result and I want thank the team for the work done and for always believing in me. See you in Argentina!” Source link

Iannone: “For us it’s important to start from the first row”

Rain in the desert? Sadly enough, yes. Saturday’s track action at Losail International Circuit was eventually called off completely after adverse weather both overnight and in the morning made track conditions too dangerous, meaning the grid is decided from combined practice times. That means Team Suzuki Ecstar’s Andrea Iannone begins his first GP with the Hamamatsu factory from P2. Source link

Preseason recap: Marc Marquez

Australia saw Marquez really get down to business, going fastest on Day 1 and then second on Day 2 – with a mammoth 102 laps completed on the second day. Another 96 laps on Day 3 saw Marquez in P2 and the only man other than Viñales to get below the 1:29 barrier, concentrating on the workload and not the timesheets. Always blisteringly fast at Phillip Island, the good end to the test was also backed up for the whole team by Dani Pedrosa in P3 – finishing off Phillip Island in style for Repsol Honda. Source link
