Dwane Casey could be picking up his NBA Coach of the Year award from the ranks of the unemployed. The Toronto Raptors have fired Casey as their head coach, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Friday, citing a league source. Casey guided the Raptors to their best record in franchise history this season, a 59-win campaign that earned them the No. 1 seed in the NBA’s Eastern Conference. But Toronto’s season ended abruptly, as LeBron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers swept the Raptors out of the second round of the playoffs. NBA Rumors: Celtics Unhappy Joel Embiid Walked Off Court Before Handshake
It’s the greatest tradition in sports: getting in line to shake the hands of the other team. But apparently, Joel Embiid wasn’t in a hand-shaking mood after the Philadelphia 76ers lost Game 5 to the Boston Celtics, 114-112, Wednesday night at TD Garden. After the final buzzer sounded, Embiid was shown heading straight to the locker room while the Celtics celebrated their series-clinching win. For the second straight season, the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers will square off in the Eastern Conference finals.
