A new animated show featuring Wally the Green Monster is coming to NESN. “Wally’s Opening Day” will premiere Sunday, April 2 on NESN at 5 p.m. ET. The 30-minute show, which is presented by ’47 Brand with the support of XFINITY On Demand and New England Ford Dealers, is part of the Red Sox’s “Calling All Kids” initiative, and it will air the night before Boston opens its 2017 season. Nico Rosberg’s battle with Lewis Hamilton on the way to winning the 2016 Formula One driver championship was so mentally taxing the German retired just weeks after the final race. However, the up-and-down season took its toll on Hamilton too, and David Coulthard reportedly thinks he could make a similarly dramatic exit from the sport. Matt Kenseth’s Car Hits Wall Hard During NASCAR Race At Phoenix Raceway
The track temperature at Phoenix International Raceway on Sunday was a big test of tire management, which Matt Kenseth didn’t pass. Kenseth hit the wall on Lap 192 of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Camping World 500 after his front right tire failed in the middle of Turn 2. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver reportedly was complaining his car was tight throughout most of the race, and attempted to correct that by making a track-bar adjustment on his second pit stop. The war of words between Stewart-Haas Racing and Nature’s Bakery, SHR driver Danica Patrick’s former primary sponsor, doesn’t appear to have an end in sight. As part of a court filing Thursday in its breach of contract suit against Nature’s Bakery, SHR provided a letter in which it claims Patrick brought the health snack foods company nearly $ 4.5 million in television exposure and roughly $ 7 million in estimated internet media exposure in 2016, according to ESPN. USA gymnastics president resigns amid sexual abuse scandal
INDIANAPOLIS — Steve Penny resigned as president of USA Gymnastics on Thursday following intensified pressure on the organization for its handling of sex abuse cases. The resignation came a week after the United States Olympic Committee’s board recommended to USA Gymnastics chairman Paul Parilla that Penny should step down. Penny offered his resignation during a previously scheduled board meeting on Thursday. “My decision to step aside as CEO is solely to support the best interests of USA Gymnastics at this time,” Penny said in a statement.
