Report: Sting Suffered ‘Significant’ Neck Injury At WWE ‘Night Of Champions’

One of the best professional wrestlers of all time might have seen his career come to an end Sunday night. Sting, who is 56 years old, was injured in the main event versus Seth Rollins at WWE’s “Night Of Champions” pay-per-view. According to the Pro Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, the injury is considered to be “significant.” The injury is a reported neck injury, which obviously is nothing to take lightly. It’s thought that the injury occurred when Rollins power-bombed Sting into one of the turnbuckles. However, Sting also took a huge bump earlier in the match when he was dropped through one of the announce tables. The match actu...

NFL Week 2 Injury Update: Bills’ Aaron Williams Exits Field In Ambulance

5:39 p.m.: Drew Brees had a shaky day in the New Orleans Saints’ 26-19 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, prompting questions about his health after the game. This doesn’t mean Brees will miss New Orleans’ next game or anything like that, but it’s definitely noteworthy given the Pro Bowl quarterback’s importance to the Saints. 5:34 p.m.: Ndamukong Suh briefly left the Miami Dolphins’ game against the Jacksonville Jaguars with an apparent knee injury. The controversial defensive lineman returned a short time later, though. Go ahead, Fins fans. Breathe a sigh of relief. 4:24 p.m.:

New Miss America Calls Tom Brady A Cheater, Defies All Logic (Videos)

Betty Cantrell is the newest Miss America, but don’t expect New England Patriots fans to stand and applaud her victory. Because, you see, Cantrell believes Tom Brady did deflate those footballs after all. Here’s a sentence we never thought we’d type: Country singer Brett Eldredge asked Cantrell, who’s Miss Georgia, on Sunday if she believed Brady cheated in the Deflategate scandal, even though the QB’s suspension was nullified last week. Cantrell’s response must have left Roger Goodell, Ted Wells and Jeff Pash proudly beaming in their palatial New York estates. Minutes later, in a moment that Brady pal and Miss America rival Donald Trump wo...

Steelers O-Lineman: ‘Kudos’ To Patriots For Thinking Of Goal-Line Shift

The New England Patriots are known for their clever way of essentially finding loopholes in the NFL rule book. Just ask the Baltimore Ravens. But their latest victims were the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers were called for a false start on 3rd-and-goal on the Patriots’ 1-yard line during the fourth quarter of New England’s 28-21 win Thursday night. Left tackle Kelvin Beachum and left guard Ramon Foster moved when New England’s defensive line shifted during Ben Roethlisberger’s snap count. And the Pittsburgh quarterback wasn’t happy. “I thought that there was a rule against that,” Roethlisberger said, per USA TODAY Sports. ...

Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Novak Djokovic All Win At U.S. Open

NEW YORK — No reason for any extra practice after this performance by Serena Williams. Playing the best she has during this U.S. Open as she chases a calendar-year Grand Slam, Williams set up a quarterfinal against older sister Venus by making only six unforced errors in a 6-3, 6-3 victory over 19th-seeded Madison Keys on Sunday. Serena took only 68 minutes to dismiss Keys, a 20-year-old American with formidable serves and forehands who simply was outplayed. Already a winner of the past four major tournaments, including last year’s U.S. Open, Serena is trying to become the first tennis player to win all four in the same season since Steffi Gr...

Serena Williams Does Split During Big Comeback Win At U.S. Open (Video)

Serena Williams’ hopes of a Grand Slam were in serious trouble Friday night at the U.S. Open. Williams struggled with consistency and accuracy in the first set, as she hit 14 unforced errors and three double faults. She ended up losing the set 6-3 to fellow American Bethanie Mattek-Sands. Williams still had her chances with seven break points, but she only managed to convert one. Mattek-Sands, meanwhile, converted on both of her chances. That meant Williams needed to win the final two sets to keep her shot at a Grand Slam alive. Never count out the Williams, though. She limited her unforced errors for the rest of the match and was much ...

WWE SummerSlam: Undertaker-Brock Lesnar Main Event Ends In Controversy

WWE SummerSlam 2015 ended in controversy. The Undertaker officially defeated Brock Lesnar via submission in the main event at Barclays Center. But replays show Lesnar probably should have emerged victorious in the WrestleMania 30 rematch. The superstars beat the crap out of each other in front of an electric crowd in Brooklyn, N.Y. The Undertaker amazingly kicked out of three F5s, including one through an announce table, before the combatants traded submissions that ultimately resulted in a strange ending. Lesnar put The Undertaker into his trademark submission move, the Kimura Lock, at which point ‘Taker tapped out. The referee didn’t see The...
