Robert Kraft brought out a heavy-hitter to DJ the New England Patriots’ Super Bowl XLIX championship ring ceremony. Rapper, and (former?) Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Wiz Khalifa performed at the event, hosted by Kraft. With the Patriots preparing to open their season against the Steelers, it’s unlikely Khalifa spun his track “Black and Yellow” at the party. Brandon Spikes’ Maybach Sustained Significant Damage In Crash (Photos)
It seems as though Brandon Spikes is in some very hot water. The New England Patriots released the linebacker Monday after a 2011 Mercedes-Benz Maybach registered in his name was found abandoned and damaged on I-495 in Foxboro, Mass., around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday. An OnStar representative reportedly told Massachusetts State police that the driver reported hitting a deer, but shortly after, the passengers of a nearby 2009 Nissan Murano reported being hit by a car they had not seen. The Murano’s three passengers — a 51-year-old man, 32-year-old woman and 12-year-old boy — suffered only minor injuries, and an investigation into the hit-and-run is ongoing.
Red Sox Notes: Dustin Pedroia, Brock Holt Set Tone At Top For Boston
by Zack Cox on Sat, Jun 6, 2015 at 1:18AM BOSTON — The Red Sox received a great deal of pop from the top Friday night in their win over the Oakland A’s. Dustin Pedroia and Brock Holt, the Nos. 1 and 2 batters in Boston’s order, went a combined 5-for-8 with two doubles in the 4-2 victory, providing nearly half of the team’s 11 hits and scoring two of its four runs. “They did (set the tone),” manager John Farrell said. “Five hits combined, some good energy on the basepaths. Pedey, who’s had good success agains...
Wes Welker Backs Tom Brady In Deflategate, Open To Rejoining Patriots
Wes Welker is a 34-year-old free agent who has suffered multiple concussions. But he’s not ready to call it quits just yet. The former New England Patriots wide receiver did a Boston media tour Tuesday morning, appearing on 98.5 The Sports Hub’s “Toucher & Rich” radio show before stopping by WEEI’s “Middays With MFB.” Always the entertaining guest, Welker once again denied rumors he’s retiring and said he’d be open to coming back to New England if the opportunity arose. “I wouldn’t be opposed to it,” Welker told “Toucher & Rich,” via CBSBoston.com. “It’s a great organization, obviously, and a great team. It wouldn...
Mariner Moose Mascot Plants Big Kiss On NESN’s Guerin Austin (Video)
Guerin, look out! Too late. Mariner Moose, the Seattle Mariners mascot who once almost drove over former Boston Red Sox outfielder Coco Crisp with an ATV, took a liking to NESN’s Guerin Austin before Saturday’s game at Safeco Field. The mascot, clearly in a playful mood, planted a big smooch on Guerin before tumbling over with love. One can’t tell if Guerin was more flattered or creeped out, but hey, you can’t fault a moose for showing his romantic side. ...

Justin Masterson’s Latest Slip-Up Could Trigger Red Sox Rotation Change
by Zack Cox on Wed, May 13, 2015 at 2:17AM It might be a while before Justin Masterson starts another game for the Boston Red Sox. The right-hander turned in his worst outing in a season of lackluster ones Tuesday night, lasting just 2 1/3 innings in a 9-2 loss to the Oakland A’s at O.co Coliseum. “It wasn’t fun tonight, I’ll say that much,” Masterson told reporters after taking his second loss in as many starts. “It wasn’t fun.” The A’s teed off on Masterson, touching him for two home runs, a triple...
