CTA Blue Line capturing: Person shot on practice at UIC-Halsted


A person was shot on a CTA Blue Line practice Wednesday morning close to the UIC-Halsted station on the Near West Side.

Paramedics responded to the capturing about 10:45 a.m. on the station within the 400 block of South Halsted Street, and took a male to Stroger Hospital, in keeping with Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Merritt. His situation wasn’t recognized.

Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi stated on Twitter {that a} man was shot on the Blue Line practice and that detectives have been responding.

“All train cars are blanketed in HD camera technology and that will help us put a story together and identify suspects,” he wrote.

The CTA stated Blue Line trains have been bypassing the station attributable to an “injured customer.”
