One day after news broke on the topic, Matt Barnes spoke to the media about the alleged incident over the weekend in which he drove over 90 miles to beat up former teammate and current New York Knicks coach Derek Fisher.
To no one’s surprise, Barnes said a whole lot of nothing, but there was a bit of subtle shade thrown at Fisher.
“We were friends,” Barnes said, when asked about his relationship with his former Los Angeles Lakers teammate. “We were good friends at one point.”
When asked for clarification on if the two remained good friends, Barnes repeated the answer: “We were good friends at one point.”
