Sam Wyche, former Cincinnati Bengals coach, dies at 74


Former Cincinnati Bengals coach Sam Wyche died on Thursday at 74, the crew confirmed in a press release.

“Sam was a wonderful guy,” Bengals president Mike Brown mentioned. ”We obtained to know him as each a participant and a coach. As our coach, he had nice success and took us to the Super Bowl. He was pals with everybody right here, each throughout his tenure as head coach and afterwards. We not solely appreciated him, we admired him as a person. He had an awesome generosity of spirit and lived his life making an attempt to assist others. We categorical our condolences to Jane and his kids Zak and Kerry.”

Wyche was drafted by the Bengals in 1968 out of Furman University. He began 9 video games at quarterback with a 2-7 document.

After his taking part in days, Wyche would come again to Cincinnati to educate the Bengals for eight years, main the crew to Super Bowl XXIII.
