Share this: The Boston Bruins’ regular season comes to an end Saturday with an afternoon tilt against the Washington Capitals. With playoff implications at stake, the B’s will need to turn in a solid performance against the mighty Capitals, but they’ll have to do so without two of their best players. Brad Marchand will be serving the second game of his suspension for spearing Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Jake Dotchin, while Torey Krug has been ruled out with a lower body injury. Saturday could mark the NHL debut of Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson, whose been cleared to play after his visa was cleared. However, interim head coach Bruce Cassidy has not committed to putting the Boston University product into action. For a full update on the

The Calgary Flames entered Wednesday night riding a 10-game winning streak, but all good things must come to an end. The Boston Bruins put an end to the Flames’ winning ways with an impressive 5-2 victory. Boston’s offense turned in a terrific performance, as it received goals from three different lines. David Pastrnak opened the scoring for Boston, followed by tallies from Brad Marchand, David Backes and Matt Beleskey. Goaltender Anton Khudobin was solid in relief of Tuukka Rask, as he turned away 21 of 23 Flames shot attempts. Bruins Wrap: Brad Marchand’s Hat Trick Paces B’s To 6-3 Win Over Canucks
Share this: Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand plays his best against the Vancouver Canucks. The 2011 Stanley Cup Game 7 hero scored a third-period hat trick to help the Bruins overcome a 3-2 deficit and leave Vancouver with a 6-3 victory Monday night. The B’s now have won three straight games. Boston improves to 37-26-6 with the win, while Vancouver drops to 28-32-9. Here’s how it all went down. LUCKY BOUNCEThe Bergeron line has been on fire of late, and it didn’t take for this trio to give Boston a first-period lead. Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand assisted on David Backes goal at 6:48 of the frame. Bergeron fed a pass to Backes and the puck bounced off his skate and into the Vancouver net. It
Senators’ Craig Anderson Denies Three Bruins Shot Attempts In Crazy Sequence
Share this: The Boston Bruins were hard-pressed for goals on Monday night against the Ottawa Senators. The Senators took full advantage of the B’s sluggish performance, which in turn caused for Boston to be on the defense for much of the night. The Bruins did have a tremendous chance to score in the first period, when Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron and David Backes got shots on net in a wild sequence. However, Senators netminder Craig Anderson remarkably turned away all the shot attempts, continuing Boston’s offensive frustrations. To see the DCU Save of the Day, check out the video above. Senators’ Craig Anderson Denies Marchand, Bergeron And Backes In Crazy Sequence
The Boston Bruins were chasing the Ottawa Senators all night in Monday nights 4-2 loss in Ottawa. The Senators led the entire game after they scored two early goals in the first period and Senators goalie Craig Anderson only allowed two goals on 27 shots by the Bruins. Perhaps the three most important saves of the night by Anderson came in the first period when he denied Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron, and David Backes in the same sequence. All three Bruins had a chance to score on three consecutive shots but Anderson stopped all of them. To see Anderson reject all three shots check out the video above for the DCU Save
Brad Marchand Credits Claude Julien For His Development, Maturation
Share this: BOSTON — Brad Marchand, like many of his Bruins teammates, don’t know life in the NHL without Claude Julien as their head coach. That all changed Tuesday. The Bruins fired Julien, midway through his 10th season, replacing him with assistant coach and former Providence Bruins bench boss Bruce Cassidy. The move is something of a last resort for the floundering Bruins, who are on the verge of missing the playoffs for a third consecutive season. Julien is now gone, yes, but the veteran head coach’s impact will be felt for a long time. For all of the flak he took for a perceived inability to help younger players develop, there are plenty of examples on this Bruins roster of players he
