Share this: Paul Pierce didn’t play in the Los Angeles Clippers’ game against the Phoenix Suns on Halloween because of an injury, but that didn’t dampen the veteran forward’s holiday spirit. “The Truth” dressed up as Rick James for Halloween and sat on the Clippers bench dressed as the former music star. It was a pretty awesome costume. Pierce is playing in his final NBA season, and it looks like he’s going to have as much fun as possible before retiring. Are Steelers Still A Threat To Patriots In AFC After Ben Roethlisberger’s Injury…
Share this: According to most pundits, the Pittsburgh Steelers are the biggest threat to the New England Patriots’ hopes of going to a seventh Super Bowl in the last 15 years. At least they were, until quarterback Ben Roethlisberger tore his left meniscus in a Week 6 loss to the Miami Dolphins. So, what now? NESN.com’s Patriots beat reporter Doug Kyed was on hand at Gillette Stadium on Wednesday to discuss what the Roethlisberger injury means for the Pats both heading into their matchup with Pittsburgh in Week 7 and going forward. Check out what Kyed had to say in the video from “NESN Sports Today,” presented by People’s United Bank, above. Thumbnail photo via Steve Mitchell/USA TODAY Sports Images More Stories Source link
Bruins Excited About Their Young Players Heading Into 2016-17 NHL Season
Share this: With the recent undisclosed injuries to Kevan Miller and Adam McQuaid, even more opportunities are there for the Boston Bruins’ younger players to step up heading into the 2016-17 season. “We’ve said all along the opportunity will be there for younger players if they’re able to step forward, and you’re seeing throughout camp we’ve had a couple players who have emerged in that regard, whether that’s through injury or through their good play,” Bruins general manager Don Sweeney said at the team’s media day Tuesday. “And the coaching staff has been excited about their play, so we move forward with that and we feel they’ve added a lot of dimensions to our team.” Hear more in the video from “NESN Sports Today,” presented
Mookie Betts Breaks Out ‘Jump On It’ Dance After Red Sox Beat Rays
Share this: Another day, another victory dance. The Boston Red Sox’s outfielders have given fans something to look forward to after every win thanks to their creative celebratory dances. And just one night after Mookie Betts debuted “The Carlton,” the right fielder moved on to the “Jump On It” dance after Saturday’s 6-4 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. The dance goes with The Sugarhill Gang’s “Apache” and also was featured in an episode of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” so it looks as though Betts is sticking to a theme. He might need to think of a few more dances, though, as the Red Sox are riding a 10-game win streak. Thumbnail photo via Jake Roth/USA TODAY Sports Images More Stories Source link
Milik moving forward with Napoli
Arkadiusz Milik not only accepted the task of replacing Gonzalo Higuaín at Napoli this summer, he also became the most expensive Polish player ever with his €32m move from Ajax, the fee more than ten times what the Eredivisie club had paid Bayer Leverkusen for the striker 12 months before.Still, the 22-year-old – a UEFA EURO 2016 quarter-finalist, and Poland's match winner against Northern Ireland in Nice – shows no signs of pressure. Milik scored twice on his Serie A home debut against AC Milan and repeated the trick on his UEFA Champions League bow for Napoli at Dynamo Kyiv, his first-half double earning a 2-1 comeback victory.
Bruins Roster Rest: Projected Forward Lines After Dominic Moore Signing
The Boston Bruins signed veteran center Dominic Moore to a one-year contract worth $ 900,000 on Tuesday. The move gives head coach Claude Julien quite a few centers to worth with when training camp and the preseason begin. In addition to having two legitimate top-six centers in Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci, the B’s signed free-agent center David Backes in July and need to find a spot for young center Ryan Spooner to continue his development. Noel Acciari and Riley Nash also are capable of playing down the middle. One or more of these centers might have to play on the wing, but it’s not a bad problem to have. The Bruins
