The power play is the most glaring weakness for the Boston Bruins this season. The B’s have scored on just three of 38 opportunities with the man advantage, giving them the league’s second-worst success rate at 7.9 percent. It’s an area that must improve for the Bruins to return to the playoffs after a two-year absence. Check out the video above to hear Bruins players Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci discuss the team’s struggling power play, as seen on “NESN Sports Today” presented by People’s United Bank. ... Why Tom Brady’s Mobility Has Been Essential To Patriots QB’s Success
Share this: Despite what his mom believes, Tom Brady isn’t exactly the fastest guy on the football field. In fact, the New England Patriots quarterback is pretty slow. But don’t be fooled by Brady’s poor straightaway speed — his feet still play a big role in his success. The 39-year-old QB had another monster day Sunday, throwing for 315 yards and four touchdown passes in a 41-25 demolition of the Buffalo Bills at New Era Field. Brady did all that while facing a strong Bills pass rush, and on several occasions, he showed impressive mobility to elude defenders and keep the play alive before finding his open receiver. Former Patriots tight end Jermaine Wiggins believes Brady’s elusiveness is a big reason why he’s putting
Russell Wilson Injury: Seahawks Quarterback Sprains Knee, Leaves Blowout Win Vs….
Share this: Russell Wilson was already nursing an ankle injury. Now, that’s the least of his worries. The Seattle Seahawks quarterback left Sunday’s blowout 38-17 victory over the San Francisco 49ers twice due to what the team is calling a sprained left knee. Wilson’s knee bent horrifically in the wrong direction during one play in which he was scrambling to his right, and he left the game but returned after missing only one snap. He later left the game again and was fitted with a left knee brace. He intends to play in Week 4, and said he could have returned Sunday if the game was close. Some reports are speculating that Wilson has a sprained MCL, but it appears his ACL fortunately is
Here Are Some Highlights Of Julian Edelman Playing QB At Kent State
Share this: The New England Patriots could enter Thursday night’s game against the Houston Texans with the understanding that wide receiver Julian Edelman might be called upon to play quarterback. It would take an unfortunate set of circumstances, as the Patriots are expected to hand the quarterback keys to rookie Jacoby Brissett with Jimmy Garoppolo injured and Tom Brady still serving his Deflategate suspension. But New England hasn’t added a quarterback and Garoppolo might not dress for the game, leaving Brissett as the only legitimate quarterback on the Patriots’ roster. If that ends up being the case, Edelman likely will serve as New England’s backup quarterback. The Patriots’ hope surely is that Brissett stays healthy and on the field, eliminating the need for
Deutsche Bank Championship Notes: Hermine Impacts Play At TPC Boston
NORTON, Mass. — It wasn’t exactly hurricane-like conditions at TPC Boston, but it certainly wasn’t ideal weather for golf. The remnants of Hurricane Hermine didn’t bring any rain during Monday’s final round of the Deutsche Bank Championship, but a light rain probably would have been preferable for some golfers than the strong gusts of wind. “I thought it blew really hard,” Jimmy Walker (12-under-par) said. “It was very playable early and then it seemed like about No. 9 for us it really started to kick up. And then the back nine was pretty brutal.” He added: “(The wind was) swirling and heavy. It was heavy, heavy, really gusty.... NESN.com
Report: Tom Brady To Play Vs. Panthers; Unknown Which Patriots QB Will Start
Share this: The New England Patriots officially have the lamest, most minor quarterback controversy in history. Tom Brady will play in the Patriots’ third preseason game against the Carolina Panthers, CSNNE.com’s Tom E. Curran reported Thursday, but it’s unknown if Brady or Jimmy Garoppolo will start Friday’s game. It’s also unclear how long and for how many series Brady will play. Brady missed the Patriots’ first two preseason games to attend memorial services for a family member and because he suffered a cut on his thumb. Garoppolo started both of those games. Brady traveled to Carolina with the rest of his teammates Thursday, and he was clamoring to play this week during a news conference. It’s likely Garoppolo will receive more snaps than Brady, and
Warriors Have ‘Short Window’ To Win An NBA Championship, Says David Robinson
Share this: The Golden State Warriors have a chance to make the 2016-17 NBA campaign a historic one after adding superstar forward Kevin Durant to a team that won a record 73 games last season. Forming a cohesive unit won’t be a walk in the park, though, at least according to one Hall of Famer with two championship rings. “It takes time, you look at what happened with LeBron, Wade, and Bosh. It took them a year or two to get their legs underneath them and figure things out and even then that run was relatively short,” San Antonio Spurs legend David Robinson told Complex’s Zach Frydenlund. “So if you’re able to put together a team like this, you’re generally going to have a short window because you
