A person was fatally shot Monday in south suburban University Park.
Authorities responded about 6:47 p.m. to the car parking zone of a retailer within the 500 block of University Parkway, in response to University Park police.
Officers discovered 23-year-old Chikiris Murphy unresponsive with a number of gunshot wounds, police and the Cook County medical expert’s workplace mentioned. He was taken to Franciscan St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields, the place he was pronounced lifeless.
According to witnesses, Murphy was standing within the car parking zone when a male approached him and fired photographs, police mentioned. No arrests have been reported.
