Why Patriots’ Super Bowl LI Run Has Been ‘Special’ For Bill Belichick

Share this: FOXBORO, Mass. — If this season means a little more to New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick it’s understandable. For the first time, Belichick is working with both of his sons, Steve and Brian. Brian, who has been around the team for years, even spending time on the sideline during games, officially joined the Patriots’ scouting department this offseason as an assistant. Steve has been on the Patriots’ coaching staff since 2012 but became a position coach for the first time in 2016, leading the safeties. Belichick was asked Thursday what it was like preparing for Super Bowl LI with both of his sons. “Special, yeah special. Unlike any other,” Belichick said. “Obviously great to have Steve, but to also have Brian too,

What Makes Falcons’ Top-Ranked Offense So Dangerous? Big-Play Potential

by Zack Cox on Thu, Jan 26, 2017 at 10:59AM 1,345 Share this: FOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots have played in six Super Bowls under head coach Bill Belichick. They’ve never faced an offense as explosive as the one they’ll see in big game No. 7. The Patriots’ opponent in Super Bowl LI is an Atlanta Falcons team that led the NFL in scoring during the regular season, then hung 80 points on two quality opponents in the postseason. With an MVP favorite at quarterback and a slew of weapons around him, Atlanta has the ability to score from anywhere on the field, even against a defense as stout as the Patriots’. “They’re very explosive offensively,” Belichick said Thursday morning. “Every guy that

Kings Expertly Troll Cavaliers On Twitter Following Overtime Victory

Share this: It’s been a rough stretch for the Cleveland Cavaliers of late. The Cavs had lost five of their last seven games coming into Wednesday night’s tilt with the Sacramento Kings. The mid-January slump caused star forward LeBron James to call out his front office following the Cavs’ Monday night loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. Things got worse Wednesday night as Kings guard Arron Afflalo hit a 3-pointer with 17.3 seconds left in overtime to send Cleveland to its sixth loss in eight tries. After the game, the Kings’ official Twitter account threw some expert level shade at the defending NBA champions. This might be the best thing the Kings do all season.
