VR46 Master Camp talent take to the flat track

Marco Belli: "The first day of the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp is all about getting the riders in the right position on the bikes, so they can work them easily. It's always a question of body position and throttle control. Yesterday we worked a little bit more on the lower half of the body, because we noticed that they needed to ride the bikes more with that part instead of trying to solve situations using their upper body. We did some special exercises and I can tell that most of these guys are used to these kinds of practice sessions, perhaps on dirt or supermoto. They're already able to control the bike, which is good, but then it becomes a

Binder: “Every time I get on the bike I feel better”

It’s been very hard. When I thought that I would only be missing training in December, we arrived at the end of January and I was told that I had to go under the knife again. Everything seemed fine, but in Argentina, the plate moved and I broke my arm again while I was riding, forcing me to go through a third operation. That last one was harder than the previous two, because I have had to do much more rehabilitation. Now I just need time in order to get strong again. Every time I get on the bike I feel better and more comfortable, so we are taking steps in the right direction. Source link

Private Summer Testing: Last push before Brno

While rivals can keep an eye on each other during official tests – where they share the same track and come under scrutiny from the media – private tests, as the name implies, are more discreet affairs. Riders can use the time to test new parts that are potentially introduced into their racing package at any point during the season, and all without revealing their true potential, with lap times not usually made available. During the first half of the current season, Bautista has scored top-seven finishes in four races, including a fourth place in Argentina, a fifth in Italy, a seventh in Catalunya and a sixth at the recent German Grand Prix. As soon as he rode the Ducati GP16, the 32-year-old set top-five finishes as his target for this season, and his confidence in the package has already been borne out. Source link

Bradley Smith's blog: Making progress

Putting those two dodgy weekends behind me, I think they are the only negative parts of what has been a good first half of the season for me and the new KTM team. We have continued to make steady progress moving in the right direction with the bike getting better and better. We beat some very good riders on competitive machinery in Germany and we really raced into the points. Other races when we have picked up points riders have dropped out or crashed but there was only one major crash in front of us – we really earned those points. We raced the KTM into the points rather than just picking up points. It was great for the morale
