Well that was one heck of a start to the 2016-17 Boston Bruins season. The B’s hit the road for their season opener against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday night and left Nationwide Arena happy as clams following an exciting, come-from-behind 6-3 win to kick things off. Boston trailed 2-0 after one period and 3-1 early in the second, but Boston’s defense and first line took over from there. Each of Brad Marchand, David Pastrnak and David Backes scored two goals, while Marchand had an incredible five-point performance in the comeback. Eric Decker Injury: Fantasy Football Impact Of Jets Star Going To Injured Reserve
New York Jets wide receiver Eric Decker has been placed on injured reserve because of a torn rotator cuff, the team announced Wednesday. NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport painted an even worse picture for Decker’s future in 2016. This is a blow to fantasy football owners because Decker has been a productive wideout for the Jets after joining them in 2014. He missed the last two games, but the veteran receiver hauled in nine passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns during the first three games of the campaign. The Boston Red Sox’s strong suit going into the playoffs was their offense, but that’s not how it worked out Thursday. The Red Sox dropped Game 1 of their American League Division Series against the Cleveland Indians 5-4, partly because of a lackluster performance from starter Rick Porcello, who gave up three solo home runs in the third inning. However, the offense really didn’t do Porcello any favors. The Red Sox were swinging at everything and especially had trouble with breaking balls.
