Share this: FOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots’ 31-24 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night came down to a play at the goal line. Hmm. When has that happened before? Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin called attention to the coincidence his team’s Week 10 matchup with the Patriots finished similarly — though with opposite results — to Seattle’s Super Bowl XLIX loss to New England. “You know it’s kind of ironic (to have) the ball on the one-yard line and an opportunity to win it,” Baldwin said after the game. “Fortunately enough, the ball rolled our way this time.” Patriots quarterback Tom Brady threw an incomplete pass to tight end Rob Gronkowski on fourth down from the 1-yard line Sunday night. Patriots Vs. Seahawks Notes: LeGarrette Blount Closing In On Curtis Martin’s Rec…
by Zack Cox on Mon, Nov 14, 2016 at 2:47AM 2,071 Share this: FOXBORO, Mass. — No New England Patriots player has rushed for more touchdowns in a season that Curtis Martin, who found the end zone 14 times in 1995 and again in 1996. If LeGarrette Blount keeps up his current pace, that record won’t stand for long. Blount bulldozed his way across the goal line three more times in Sunday night’s 31-24 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, bringing his season touchdown total to 12 with seven games left to play. Barring injury or a precipitous drop-off in production, he easily should surpass Martin’s mark, perhaps as early as next Sunday in San Francisco. How did a running back who’d never scored more than seven touchdowns
Patriots-Seahawks Takeaways: Cornerbacks Flounder In Week 10 Loss
Share this: It’s time to start worrying about the New England Patriots’ defense. The Patriots led the NFL in points allowed per game entering their Week 10 matchup with the Seattle Seahawks and dropped all the way down to sixth after the 31-24 loss. The Patriots’ defense wasn’t passing the “eye test” even while preventing points, and their level of competition wasn’t exactly high-powered, but they were still winning. The Seahawks are the type of team the Patriots will face in the playoffs, and they struggled and lost. Some of the Patriots’ biggest issues came in pass coverage. Here’s how the Patriots individually fared in pass coverage, pass rush, pass protection and accuracy. PASS COVERAGELogan Ryan: 6-12, 101 yards, TD, PBUMalcolm Butler: 7-8, 66 yards, TDElandon
Semyon Varlamov’s Shaky Start To Season Costing Avalanche Out Of Gates
Share this: The Colorado Avalanche have struggled scoring goals this season, but even if they could score that might not be enough to overcome Semyon Varlamov’s awful start. The Avalanche goalie is 3-6-0 with a putrid 3.47 goals against average and .882 save percentage. Meanwhile, His backup, Calvin Pickard, has done much better with a 3-1-0 record, 2.08 goals against average and .923 save percentage. Watch Fans Brawl Before Conor McGregor’s UFC 205 Fight At Madison Sq. Garden
Share this: Some people can’t help but to ruin other peoples’ fun. That was the case Saturday night at Madison Square Garden when fans in attendance started brawling shortly before the UFC 205 main event between Conor McGregor and Eddie Alvarez. One younger guy seemed to be fighting three or four older men, who showed him the folly of his youthful recklessness. Ezekiel Elliott, Cowboys Overcome Fake Spike To Shock Steelers In Final Seconds
Share this: The Dallas Cowboys just keep on winning, no matter how steep the challenge. It sure looked as though the Cowboys would drop their second game of the season Sunday after Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers pulled off a stunning fake-spike touchdown with only 43 seconds remaining. But the rookie duo of Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott got the last laugh thanks to Elliot’s 32-yard rushing touchdown with nine seconds left in the game. The Steelers couldn’t pull out one last miracle, and the Cowboys won the instant classic 35-30. What a game. Thumbnail photo via Charles LeClaire/USA TODAY Sports Images More Stories Source link
Conor McGregor Wears Two UFC Championship Belts, Just As He Always Wanted
Share this: NEW YORK — Conor McGregor became the first two-division champion in UFC history Saturday night, and that means he owns two belts. So get the man his belts. The Notorious badly wanted to wear both of them after his second-round KO win over Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205, but only one — the lightweight belt, which he claimed Saturday — apparently was available. UFC president Dana White came to the rescue, though, and McGregor had his moment at Madison Square Garden. McGregor, who’s also the UFC featherweight champ, later climbed atop the octagon and celebrated with the fans who supported him throughout the week. Now the question becomes, can McGregor keep both belts? White didn’t seem opposed to the idea when asked earlier this
